Tear Drop 9/11 Monument

11:47:00 PM

Admittedly, didn't know what to feel, see and expect when we headed to Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal after Hoboken to see the Tear Drop 9/11 Monument

The 10-story sculpture was donated by Russia to the United States to honor victims in 9/11 attacks and WTC 1993 bombing.

People killed on 9/11 were inscribed (on about 11 walls) around the base; The Harbor View Park is situated at the end of a pier in Bayonne, New Jersey. Was hoping to see the Empty Sky, another 9/11 Memorial but the area was closed that Sunday.
It's 100 ft tall, tear drop alone is 40 ft long - huge!

^ A piece of I-Beam from the World Trade Center

Sad and scenic, overlooking Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, then Long Island on the right...
The Freedom Tower, Statue of Liberty just below then Empire State on it's left.

... and that is Robbins Reef Light - aka. Kate's Light built in 1883

It was windy, a bit cold but worth the drive!
