Visited Ho Chi Minh - November '14

10:18:00 PM

It was totally an exceptional experience flying solo to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam the night of 7/NOV. About 2.5H travel time, I've planned everything including airport pick-up to the hotel considering the flight was too late for a strange place (purchased ticket around June of the same year - seat sale).

Tan Son Nhat Int'l Airport is about 30 minutes drive to most of the hotels / hostels situated on several districts. I couldn't recall what made me book an overnight stay at Windsor but it was all worth it - see separate blog

Left my luggage at about 1:00am (ICT +1) at Windsor and declined a 50% off discount on a room to experience the "Business Capsule" at Kaiteki Hotel. Took a cab from District 4 to 1, along Bui Vien - walking distance to Sinh Tourist office for my early City Tour but joined the My Tho and Ben Tre Tour instead - see separate blog

Overall, I slept well, room temperature was just right, the linens were clean and white, neighbor capsules were quiet, able to fully charge my gadgets, took a bath right before the tour, a locker and a bath towel were provided, friendly staff; just make sure you bring your toiletries 'cause the containers were hardly replaced. By the way, the capsule wasn't too bad for USD 8+

Had the tour, enjoyed everything, met some nice people and started to explore HCMC Saturday night...

Checked in around 430pm and bought this yummy Pho along the street... ;)

Went to Ben Thanh, bought some cute wallets, purse, H&M sleepers for my daughter and a few souvenirs; planned my personal / DIY City Tour instead for I got a very nice room upgrade then head to bed early.
- END OF DAY 1 -

I let go of the Cu Chi Tunnels I bought prior to the trip and enjoyed the accommodation more before flying to Hanoi and walked around the city - see separate blog

Looked what I have captured on my way back... <333 #tearjerking

I didn't particularly feel safe in Saigon (HCMC) but I had fun and will definitely go back...

Thank you...
