Visited Hanoi - November '14

10:22:00 PM

I spent (2) days in Ho Chi Minh then flew to Hanoi to meet a friend. Booked a flight through Vietjetair but likely my first and last. It's always good to bargain but not to the extent that you have to put up the whole flight. When boarding, there was this strong urine smell, passengers were noisy and surely my check-in luggage was opened and they stole my favorite Pacsafe lock, thank God, lock is all... :(

Skipped dinner the first night, so excited for the Halong Bay cruise scheduled the next day... - see separate blog

Stayed at Hanoi Backpackers Hostel for 2 nights, "nights" cause we just literally slept... Had a food trip day and night after the cruise:

Trust I've HAD ENOUGH coffee in Vietnam. Iced coffee morning 'til dawn. :)

Spring Rolls are a must-try. The street food is relatively cheap and surprisingly good, even the local beers which only costed about 5,000 Dong.
We also enjoyed the food at Gecko 85 Hang Bac and The Hanoi Social Club - see separate blog

On my 4th day, I transferred to Vietview Hotel for I was able to get the early Check-In / late Check-Out promo they offered October of 2014. - see separate blog

We have initially planned to do the Ninh Binh (Tam Coc) tour, I wanted the Sapa as well but I only had a week to spare... It's been about 2 months and I already want to go back.

Thank you... see you again, Hanoi!

and to our Tour Guide named Happy of Ha Long Du Gong Sail :)
