Day 75 of 366: Mango!

3:06:00 PM

Mango ("King of Fruits") season is here. Are you also happy? Being born in summer made me live to love mangoes so much - whether ripe or green. For one thing, it is delicious and very healthy. Do you believe so?

I opted to get a few mango benefits and cautions so I've actually made another research because the husband is diabetic as well as my father. I've been craving a lot lately and would always want a slice or two after meals. I have itemized the benefits below:

1.) Prevents Cancer - mangoes has antioxidant compounds that are found to protect against colon, leukemia, breast and prostate cancers
2.) Helps in Digestion - it has digestive enzymes / high amount of fiber
3.) Helps in Diabetes - the leaves can actually help normalize insulin levels. Will try this soon: "Boil a few mango leaves in water and allow it to saturate through the night. Consume the filtered decoction in the morning for diabetic home remedy. The glycemic index of mango is LOW so it does not have any significant effect in increasing blood sugar levels."
4.) Beneficial for Anemia - both beneficial for pregnant women and if suffering from anemia because of their iron content
5.) Good for the Eye - mango supplies 25% of the needed value of Vitamin A which promotes good eyesight
6.) Good for the Skin too - effective in relieving clogged pores of the skin
7.) Boost sex drive - mangoes has Vitamin E
8.) Boost Memory - mangoes are perfect for kids for it can give them focus in studies
9.) Avoid heat stroke - green mangoes: rich source of pectin
10.) Weight gain? Yes, according to study, mangoes are highly effective for those wanting to gain weight. "100 grams of mango contains about 75 calories"

See, we can always include mangoes in our daily diet. :) Buy now, the price/kg have dramatically dropped at about 30-40%!
